twelve years in technical leadership across south african healthcare, halal-food supply, and financial-services data. before founding khwarizmi: head of data at a series-c logistics platform; principal engineer on a regulated fintech build; technical lead on two halal-certification working papers commissioned by foundation work in gauteng.

the firm is founder-anchored by design. every engagement is read by one person. the panel — fractional posture, ai enablement, platform builds, compliance — is taken at scale; the read is taken at the desk. governance §13: the founder approves every working paper that leaves the firm.

this is the only role at khwarizmi. the firm grows by handing over to clients, not by hiring more consultants. a chair always has a successor. that is the test.

the engagement, in shape.

every engagement is a square missing a corner. we name the missing corner on day fourteen, complete it by week twelve, pair the team on it through week fifteen, and step out on the last friday. quarterly office hours for twelve months. that is it.

  1. M.01 · diagnose

    two weeks. one working paper.

    we read the data, the systems, the contracts, the past two board packs. we write a working paper naming what is missing and what is fine. you read it before scope locks.

  2. M.02 · complete

    ten to twelve weeks. paired build.

    we build in pairs with your team. every primitive is a working paper. nothing ships without a runbook. nothing gets handed over that we cannot trace.

  3. M.03 · hand-over

    three weeks. shadow then lead.

    your team shadows us for one week. they lead for two. on the last friday we close the laptop, sign the closing paper, and step out.

  4. M.04 · office hours

    half a day per quarter. for twelve months.

    they call us. we do not call them. four half-days, included, no retainer. then the engagement is truly closed.

five principles we do not bend.

these are not preferences. they are the structural reasons the work holds up after we leave.

every primitive is a working paper. every working paper is footnoted to source. the auditor reads the trail without us in the room.

data stays in the jurisdiction unless there is a written reason otherwise. afrihost / hetzner / your tenancy. not a us-east region.

halal-compatible where it matters.

commercial structuring avoids riba where the client requires. paired with islamic-finance counsel. it is structural, not branding.

we leave on time.

the engagement has a last friday. we book it on day one. we close the laptop on it. quarterly office hours do not extend the engagement.

working papers, not slide decks.

a working paper is signed, footnoted, dated, and held in canonical form. a slide deck is a marketing artefact. one survives the audit; the other does not. we ship the first; you can ask us for the second.

every paper carries.

  • a question, named on page one.
  • a method, written before the analysis.
  • data, sourced and versioned. anyone can re-run it.
  • findings, with confidence where they matter.
  • limits — where the data is thin, where the method bends.
  • a signature from the founder. canonical copy held in your data room.

what we will not write.

  • a marketing white paper with our logo.
  • a vendor-funded report dressed as objective.
  • findings you wrote that we put our name on.
  • a deck with no underlying paper.
